Respect your erasers and the art room!
Poking holes in erasers and drawing on desks are a problem at the start of a new year, especially with the younger students. I keep a ziplock bag with torn pieces of erasers from the previous years. I pass it around and explain that by poking a hole in the eraser, it makes them break into 2 little pieces that are harder to use.
Drawing on the desks makes it dirty for the next classes coming in, and is hard work for the ladies that clean the room. You do not mark on your furniture at home, you can’t do it here. Doing either of these will get you a conduct mark in the book. Having the student clean the marks off of the table before doing art is another solution.
